Malang, Bhirawa— Simple greetings and casual conversation within the community are effective ways to build a sense of security and a conducive atmosphere. This is what Sergeant Fajar, a Babinsa (commander) from Tulusrejo Village, Koramil 0833-05/Lowokwaru, demonstrated during a visit with the Bhabinkamtibmas (commander) in his assigned area.
This routine activity is more than just a routine regional visit. Behind these casual meetings, there’s an effort to maintain open lines of communication, gather information directly from the community, and strengthen the relationship between regional officials and local residents.
On this occasion, Sergeant Fajar interacted directly with residents in a friendly and familial atmosphere. This persuasive approach reflects the officers’ commitment to a constant presence in the community.
“Being a Babinsa (village supervisor) isn’t just about being there when problems arise. What’s more important is how we can connect with the community, get to know the residents, listen to their concerns, and work together to find solutions when problems arise in the community,” said Sergeant Fajar.
He added that consistent communication facilitates early detection of various developments in the target area. This way, potential disturbances to security and order can be anticipated as early as possible.
The presence of the Babinsa (village supervisory officer), accompanied by the Bhabinkamtibmas (community police officer), also underscores the strong synergy between the TNI and Polri at the grassroots level.
